The Monster at the Pass

A kingdom was trapped. A huge monster sat in the mountain pass. Nobody could get out to trade with neighbouring kingdoms, and nobody could get in to visit or sell their wares.  It was devastating the crops and pastures with its scorching breath, and eating the livestock.  Something had to be done.

So the townspeople went to the king. He didn't know what to do, but he saddled his horse, put on his armour and sword, and started down the road towards the mountain pass. He heard its terrible roar echoing down the valley; "Go back, or I will eat you whole!"

Shaken, he kept on riding, step by step.  And, lo and behold, the monster, at each step, began to shrink and shrink.  Encouraged by this he started cantering, watching it grow smaller and smaller, the closer he got.  When he finally reached the monster at full gallop, it was so tiny, he could scoop it up in his hand.

"Tell me your name!" ordered the king, as he dangled the quaking monster between finger and thumb.
"My name is fear," it squeaked with a wriggle.

And with one puff, the king blew that monster away.

Simple Grace

Many years ago, I was searching around for clothes that were elegant, practical and gave grace and beauty to the woman, without sexualising her.  Clothes that could be put on and forgotten. Where cloth had richness of colour and texture, and men could enjoy female company without distraction.  Also, avoiding the dowdy.

In shops were clothes that  needed constant attention and adjusting so people weren't flashed.  The sexual attention was often at the expense of comfort, warmth and practicality.  The practical clothes were often badly cut and dowdy...

What was I looking for?  Simple Grace.

Imagine a shop, where every item was picked with Simple Grace in mind.  What would be in it?

Aenemia!

Based on heavy montly period
makes one suddenly tired, stressed and weepy.
Life has to be put on hold of a day or two.
Plans are made
but the ball is often dropped...

Orthodox medicine gives me:
- Iron supplements
- Anti-depressant for seratonin levels
- Ostrogone-releasing birth-control IUD
- Councellor for stress-related issues

Natural medicine gives me:
- ginger is a blood thinner - reduce from diet
- Iron
- Zinc
- Calcium
- B vitamins
- C vitamins
- K vitamin
- Apple Cider Vinegar and baking soda
- Blackstrap molasses
- rest and reassessment of life etc

It is a relief that I am not going nutty
that there are ways to rectify the problem
My original feeling that
I wasn't firing on all cylinders
not far off the mark
and that it didn't have to stay this way...

Lord
first and foremost
You say that you give rest to the weary
and to give You all our burdens
that Your yoke is light
and that You will help us.
If we keep your commandments.

So may I give you my burden
and look out for Your loving guidance
and accept Your help
May I keep Your commandments
the greatest being?
to Love God
and
to love one another
as You have loved us

Bless
